Four reasons why we love reclaimed wood:
- Reclaimed wood is environmentally responsible. Tree farms culitivate young trees that can't support an ecosystem. They grow them fast and harvest them at a young age.
- Reclaimed wood has unique characteristics that cannot be duplicated, no matter how real a faux finish appears. Old growth is rare.
- Reclaimed wood offers access to highly-demanded and regulated species that are available only in their reclaimed form.
- Reclaimed wood has history. It may have been a dry dock during WWII, like our Sinker Pine, or it may have protected horses on a farm, like our Kentucky Fence. Old churches, antebellum homes, barns--these structures all have stories that add a sense of history and depth when used in home design.
